Haba Snow Mountain, standing at an elevation of 5,396 meters, is a towering peak in the southeastern part of Shangri-La County. The term "Haba" originates from the Naxi language, meaning "golden flower." This mountain's striking appearance is due to its rapid rise during the Himalayan orogeny, followed by Quaternary tectonic movements. Its steep slopes and picturesque scenery make it a popular destination for mountaineers aiming to climb snow-capped peaks. Haba Snow Mountain's numerous natural advantages make it a top choice for many climbers. Separated from the Yulong Snow Mountain by the Tiger Leaping Gorge, it adds to its mystery and allure.

Climbing from the base camp to the summit requires a 1,400-meter ascent, which is uncommon for novice climbers. This presents significant physical and psychological challenges. The total elevation difference of 2,700 meters allows you to witness the mountain's seasonal beauty. From pristine forests and vast rhododendron fields to alpine meadows, rocky terrains, tranquil glacial lakes, and breathtaking sunrises above the snow line, the scenery is truly captivating.

In clear weather, you can see three sacred peaks from the summit. These include the Three Holy Mountains of Aden to the north, Gongga (also known as the King of Sichuan Mountains) to the northeast, and Kawagebo of Meili Snow Mountain to the northwest.
