FITNESS REQUIREMENT

This activity requires high level of physical fitness. Participant must have the fitness and stamina to ascent 1000m and above, or at least complete hiking distance of 12km in day hike. We do not accept registration from people suffering from infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, severe respiratory diseases, mental illness, severe anemia, patients recovering from surgery, pregnant women, and people with severe high blood pressure. This event is only open to those aged 16-70.

 

NOVA ADVENTURE Event Terms & Conditions.

 

This event is organized and executed by NOVA ADVENTURE. Before registering, please carefully read, understand, and agree to all terms and conditions.

Payment Term  

 

1. Deposit and Balance Payment

  • A deposit of RM800 is required upon sign up to secure the booking. The remaining balance of RM899 must be paid by the booking deadline, which is 45 days prior to the event, or once the event is fully booked. 
  • Full event fees must be paid 45 days before departure. Failure to make payment within the specified period may result in automatic cancellation, and the deposit will be forfeited.

2. Private Groups Payment and Changes  

  • For private groups, full payment is required 60 days before the event. 
  • Up to 90 days before the event, itinerary modifications are flexible. Participants can reduce days or activities without refunds for unused portions. Additional charges will be applied for any add on activities.  
  • Within 90 days of the event, itinerary changes are not accepted.  
  • No refunds and participants replacement for private groups within 60 days of the event. 

3. Refund Conditions (Does Not Apply to Private Group) 

  • 60 Days Prior: Full refund is available for cancellations made more than 60 days before the event, provided no costs have been incurred.
  • Within 60 Days: Cancellations within 60 days will incur a 20% deduction of the total event fee. Alternatively, participants can find a replacement to receive a full refund.  
  • 21 Days Prior: No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 21 days of the event. However, participants can still find a replacement to receive a full refund.  
  • 14 Days Prior: No refunds or replacement arrangements will be accepted for cancellations within 14 days of the event.  
  • No-Show: Registrations that result in a no-show are non-refundable.

4. First-Launch Events 

  • Full payment is required upon registration for first-launch events, with no refunds or participant replacements allowed. Specific discounts are offered for these tours.

5. Event Cancellation by NOVA ADVENTURE 

  • If NOVA ADVENTURE cancels the event due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., insufficient participants, natural disasters, or other force majeure situations), the deposit will be refunded.  
  • Cancellation due to failure to secure permits will also qualify for a refund.

6. Permit-Related Payments 

  • For pending approval of hiking permits, refunds can be processed with a 20% admin fee deduction, plus any permit fees and service charges. Transfers to other events or the same event on a different date will not incur admin fees.

7. Switching Events  

  • Participants may switch to another event if the original event fee is less than the new event fee, and the cost difference must be topped up.  If the new event fee is lower, the difference will not be refunded.

8. Changes to Name and Bookings  

  • Name changes are permitted up to 21 days before the event, except for certain treks (e.g., Mount Irau via Mossy Forest or Mount Kinabalu), where changes are restricted by the authority.  

9. Personal Cancellation Due to Illness or Injury  

  • Refunds for personal cancellations due to illness or injury require formal proof. Relevant costs and a 20% administrative fee will be deducted, and the balance will be refunded.

10. Credit Card Refunds  

  • An additional 4% finance service charge will apply to refunds issued for payments made via credit card.

11. Itinerary Adjustments  

  • Event itineraries are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. NOVA ADVENTURE reserves the right to modify transportation, accommodation, and event schedules when necessary.

12. Travel Insurance  

  • Participants must obtain travel insurance prior to the event. NOVA ADVENTURE is not liable for losses due to inadequate or lack of insurance coverage.

13. Fee Adjustments  

  • NOVA ADVENTURE reserves the right to adjust fees in response to changes in airfares, currency fluctuations, permit costs, national park fees, or any additional costs arising from newly implemented policies or regulations by relevant authorities.

14. Weather-Related Cancellations  

  • Payments are non-refundable for cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to heavy rain, typhoon, flood, natural disaster, earthquake, heavy snow, landslide, etc.

15. Disclaimer Form  

  • All participants must sign a disclaimer form before the activity. Refusal to sign must be communicated in advance, and partial refunds (minus guide fees, permit fees, and related charges) will be processed.

16. Updates to Terms and Conditions 

  • NOVA ADVENTURE reserves the right to update these terms without prior notice. Please check our website for the latest information.

- Early fly to Miri (Prefer Malaysia Airline)and transit to Mulu
- Pick up service at Mulu Airport

- At 1430 start cave show case, walk 3km to Deer cave & Langs cave
- At evening, proceed to the Bat Observatory outside Deer Cave to see millions of bat leave the cave to search for foods
- Trek back to HQ for dinner

- After breakfast, 0845 hours depart the park HQ and proceed by longboat upriver to Wind Cave
- Climb up 250 steps staircase to visit Clear water cave
- Lunch at Clear water cave hut (lunch packed)
- After lunch proceed to Kuala Litut(around 45- 1hrs boat ride)
- Start trekking to Camp 5 (9Km , 2-3 hrs)
- Overnight at Camp 5 which offers basic dormitory accommodation with basic common toilet facilities.

- After breakfast, start your trek to the Mulu Pinnacles by climbing Gunung Api
- The climb is very challenging and taxing and will take about 4-5 hours. (There are several cut off time for different check point. For those miss out the cut off time, strictly NOT ALLOW to continue your journey to the viewing platform)
- Pinnacles’ viewpoint for a packed lunch
- Descend back to Camp 5 and overnight

- After breakfast Depart Camp 5, and trek to Kuala Litut
- Proceed downstream to Park HQ
- Stay at park HQ

Camp 5 - Mulu HQ

- Drop off at the airport for departure flight in the afternoon
- Arrive Miri Airport, transfer to check in flight back to Kuala Lumpur in the evening
- Late lunch
